My mom and I were finally able to take our trip to the beach with the girls last week. We had a great trip and beautiful weather.

Camping in Cherokee!
We were so excited to go camping in Cherokee this year (we orginally thought that we would not be able to go).
Family, fishing, riding bikes, waterfall, cold hole, music, food, tubing, camp fires, dogs, rain, and Yogi Bear equal a whole lot of FUN!

4th of July Part 3
Back to 4th of July – Part 3 – the final big activity of the weekend, although we did hang out at the pool the following day and had a friend over for dinner… but I did not take any pictures (so unlike me)!
After the race, we were able to sleep from noon till 5:00 pm. Well, Jason slept that whole time, I only slept little under 2 hours (read a book in bed the rest of the time).
After we were all refreshed, we headed over to Jason’s folks for our annual 4th of July cookout. After we eat, we all walk over to the mall and watch the fireworks then come back and shoot our own.
Lots of food, lots of family, lots of fun!

Claudia’s First Tooth
Claudia’s tooth has only really been loose for about a week. She was so excited about having her first loose tooth, that she could not stop wiggling it! She popped a root chewing some gum yesterday, and Jason was able to pull it out. Her smile was big and her eyes were full of excitement. She went to bed early and woke up to $5 dollars and two silver dollars (the tooth fairy pays more for the first tooth, then pays any where from .50 – 2.00 depending upon how many stops she has to make that night).
It is so refreshing to see a child get so excited over something like a lost tooth, makes me want to enjoy the little things today and worry less about the big things!

Mom is Better
I am so happy to report that my mom is doing better. Her Stress Test showed that her heart was looking good. She has changed her meds around and is also changing her diet – no more salt!
Last week, we went to the Cracker Barrel with her and my dad, I was happy to say that she got the baked chicken – go mom!

4th of July Weekend Part 2
Well, the concert was fun, but the bad part was that we didn’t get home and in the bed until 2:00 am. That’s bad because we had to get up by 6:00 am to make it into Atlanta to run the Peachtree Road Race – 6.2 miles. Who runs 6.2 miles on 4 hours of sleep? We do!
Just like last year, Jason and I ran together. It took us 1:13 to run it last year. I am happy to report that this year, we ran it in 1:09 (with 4 hours sleep)! Maybe next year we will be even faster.

4th of July Weekend Part 1
We had a busy 4th of July weekend and had to break it up into 3 parts.
Saturday, we went to a concert and meet up with some old friends. It was so good to see them and the concert was fun too!
