Today, I was supposed to wake up early and head to the beach with my mom and girls. We have had the trip planned since January. We first booked a condo in Gulf Shores. Once the oil hit, we cancelled and luckily got our money back. We rebooked a trip to Amelia Island and had to cancel it the day before we left (yesterday). Life can change in an instant. One minute you are packing for the beach, and the next minute, you get a call that your mom is in the ER with Congestive Heart Failure. Scary stuff. Our trip just wasn’t meant to be.
I am so thankful that my mom knew to go to the hospital. I am so thankful that this happened before we got on the road and not while we were at the beach far away from home. My heart aches for my mother right now. I hope and pray that everything works out and that she can live a long, healthy, happy life.
We woke up this morning and decided we needed to get out of the house, so we went to a waterfall in the mountains.
Always gotta have peanuts for a ride through the mountains:
We stopped at a country store/farm and hung out for a little while. Got some goodies and walked around.
One of Jason’s employees and friend is working at the Athens Y camp as a counselor for the summer. We decided to stop by and surprise him. We all love Zach. He has a heart of gold and is one of the nicest/genuine guys you would ever meet. The girls gave him a few silly bands and money to spend at the camp store.
We ended the day with a trip to the pool and we are now just chillin on the back porch. Ended the weekend on a positive note. Now we will wait to see what the doctors have to say about mom this week. Our fingers are crossed. I really want her to stick around for awhile! I hope and pray that she will be ok. Please pray for her too!
