Claudia’s Broken Arm

Jason took the girls to a Gwinnett Braves game last night.

You see the tall red slide on the left side of this picture? Well, that is the slide that Claudia took a “rumble tumble” down and broke her arm. Claudia is such a tough girl, she didn’t even cry!

 

She will get another X-ray next week to make sure it is healing good. She will have to wear a sling for about a month. The doctor said that they usually don’t put casts on upper arm breaks, and wearing a sling is standard treatment.

Poor Claudia!

Yard of the Month

Jason was so proud to get Yard of the Month for August.

Saturday

Saturday morning we went to the Lawrenceville Farmer’s Market to get some Tink’s Beef. 

 

We also got some honey (made by one of Jason’s friends). We stopped by Mr. Everett’s house to get the tomatoes and a Watermelon.

Poor Snowbell had an accident. I drove off and she was on top of my car. She jumped/fell off and got a black eye:

The girls had a great first week of school and are looking forward to going back!

Busy Day

Today was a busy day. After the girls left for school, I packed my lunch and headed to the library to study for the day.

The girls had their first day of dance class:

Today is my shot day.  I usually allow myself to forget and put it off because it hurts! I made some cookies to help ease the pain!

We are baby sitting this week. One cat and 3 hermit crabs. This is our third time keeping Duke – he is an awesome cat and very well behaved:

The hermit crabs are pretty cool too!

Back to School

Yesterday was the first day of school. Both girls said they loved it! They were excited to wake up and go back today. I hope they still like school next week, once the real work starts!

We did a lot of school shopping at Walmart this year. Here is what $150 gets you at Walmart:

Please note: this was not all their school supplies, I bought supplies on 3 different shopping trips.

Claudia was up and dressed before 7:00 (the bus comes at 8:15). I had to drag Marley out of the bed at 7:30.

I thought about the girls all morning! I felt really good when they got home and said they loved it!

Raising two Girls

I made the choice to change my lifestyle not only for me, but for my girls. I wanted them to see their mom as someone who is healthy, active, confident and beautiful. During their early years, I spent a lot of time in the bed (or in the bathroom) sick. They got really used to seeing mommy being sick and it was our normal. Once I started feeling better, I wanted to change our normal. I wanted to be active and healthy. I wanted the girls to see their mom as active and healthy.

I want my girls to grow up with confidence and feel secure about themselves. I want my girls to look in the mirror and see that they are beautiful! So I now take pride in myself, take care of myself and tell myself that I am Beautiful!  I also tell my girls everyday how Beautiful they are. Because it begins now, while they are still young, and it begins with me!

 

Nature’s Garden Delivered

I received my first box from Nature’s Garden Delivered today. All of the fruits and veggies are organic (and local when possible). This is the small box and it was $37 dollars. We added on local milk (our favorite) and yogurt made from the same milk!

 

 

How does it work?: You get an email on Saturday listing what you will receive for the week. You are allowed to make 3 substitutions (I substituted avocados for tomatoes since we have tomatoes in our garden). You can also add on items (dairy, nuts, sauces, additional fruits/veggies).  Then, your box is delivered to your house on your scheduled day. Simple, easy and good!
