Marley’s 10th Birthday

The day before Marley’s birthday, we went and met my parents and Addie for dinner at Chili’s.

On her birthday, we made her wait until we got home from church to open her gifts:

She got a chair for her room, a furry blanket, some clothes, a rug for her room, Kids Bop 20, and a camo bag to take hunting.

 

We ended up having Marley’s party at the skating rink. It was a blast! I loved how they did all the work and we just showed up with the cake!

Change of Plans

So….. I finished school!  Including 8 weeks of externship (which is working as a student in a doctor’s office). Did I mention it was unpaid and I had to wear the same color every day (ceil blue - I may never wear that color again)!

I enjoyed working as a medical assistant. The patients and the office staff loved me. But it was exhausting. You never sit down and multi-tasking becomes your first name. But I was excited when they offered me a job. I accepted. Even though they offered 0 benefits, less then ideal hours, and low pay….it was a job!

Then, plans changed………..

I received a phone call (out of the blue) from a company that I interviewed with twice in the last few years. They offered me a job with more pay, better hours, and awesome benefits. Plus I could dress like this (wearing a different colored blue, of course. This outfit was also for casual Friday, I dress up more Monday - Thursday):

I just couldn’t turn it down. I spent the last 1.5 years going to school to become a Medical Assistant and now I am working in accounting…..who knew it would turn out this way?! I did decide to work 1 Saturday a month at the doctor’s office to keep up my skills and to maintain the relationship.

Sometimes life takes some twists and turns, you just got to buckle up and roll with it!

Double Digits

Wow – 10 years. I have been a mom for 10 years. I have a 10 year old daughter! Double digits. I have been so emotional lately. She is growing so fast. I am sad at how fast it is happening, but really enjoy watching her grow and develop into a beautiful young lady.

12 Years

Last weekend, Jason and I celebrated our 12th anniversary. I wasn’t feeling 100% so we didn’t plan much. The girls took a few photos of us:

The past 12 years having been amazing, and I look forward to many more!

Cheerleading

Claudia had her first football game today, and loves being a cheerleader. I am officially a “cheer mom”, and love supporting her!

First Day of School

Last week, the girls went back to school. We were all very excited and nervous at the same time. The first day went off without a hitch and we have already adjusted to our new schedule/routines.
