Sick

The girls were battling the common cold this past weekend. I tried to avoid them coughing and sneezing on me, but it didn’t work. I woke up on Tuesday with a cold! I acted quickly, and woke up Thursday and my cold is gone. Just like in the fall, my cold only lasted two days!

I drink some big green juices:

And some orange ones too (loaded with vitamin C):

Lots of ginger tea:

And multivitamins and olive leaf extract.

Cold is gone, but now my face is broken out! It is very, very rare for my face to breakout. I never even got zits when I was a teenager (thanks to good genes from my mom). I have no idea why this happened. It looks like my nose is sunburned!

Hope my face clears up fast!

Tune-Up

This past quarter was my hardest yet (and stressful). I have also been feeling a little blah lately. I need a day just for me! I also needed a little tune-up. It has been months since I have had a hair-cut and my eye brows where out of control. And my toes – well, you’ll see the pictures soon.

Hair before:

Hair after:

spring 2011 028

At least 3 inches gone, and I love it! Next time I want to let my hair grow out, I am going to reference this picture:

spring 2011 007

Yeah – pretty stringy/ratty looking. My hair just doesn’t look good longer!

Next up toes. Before:

After:

And I got my brows waxed too. Since I felt so good about my tune-up, I decided to treat myself to a frozen yogurt. Chocolate/peanut butter…yummy!

But then I came home and this mess was looking at me:

But you know what? I was really enjoying the day pampering myself, so I left this mess (and me many more) for the next day!

Hiking

Our county has really nice parks. One of the larger parks is right down the street from our house. Jason had a free morning yesterday, so we decided to go on a little hike.

This is the loop we did:

Marley’s first tennis match

Marley had her first tennis match today.  Although she didn’t win, it was awesome and exciting! I am so proud of her!

A Beautiful Day!

I hope this warm weather is here to stay – today was hot and sunny.

I started running with a friend and I really look forward to our Friday runs! Today we did two laps – over 4 miles!

I put the finishing touches on the side garden. Broccoli, Chard, Kale, and lettuce. I also planted some seeds (anxious to see if the seeds grow):

Marley had tennis practice this afternoon, tomorrow is her first match:

Ticket Stub

Jason left these two ticket stubs on my night stand last night:

Our first date was 15 years ago. I can’t believe he pulled these ticket stubs out – it’s kind-of romantic!

This is a picture of us that day:

I can’t believe it’s been 15 years!

Random Happenings

We’ve been up to a little bit of this and a little bit of that!

The rainy cold weekend forced us to do a lot of relaxing:

Marley worked hard on her school project:

Jason brought home a King Cake and chicken from work (he has occasionally been working Saturdays at Ragin Cajun, a meat market):

Jason and his brother Jeremy tilled up the ground today. We will be planting potatoes this week and making decisions on what to plant when and where. So excited!
