Just Stuff

Raymond’s (one of Jason’s former employees) home burnt down last week. Everyone was safe including the cat and dog, but they lost everything else. They walked away with the clothes on their back.

Seeing what is left of their house and all their “stuff”, can really make you think about your own life and all your stuff. Then you think about how you would feel if you lost all your stuff and your home.

Although it is all just stuff, I know that they are going through great emotions as they process what happened and try to pick up the pieces and move forward with their lives.

Sometimes life is so hard! 

Last Day of School

I never get emotional on the first day of school, but I always do on the last. I guess it is because I realize how fast they are growing and how fast the school year went by. To be honest, I have been an emotional wreck lately! Time is passing by quickly and I am afraid if I blink, they will be off to college!

I treated the girls to frozen yogurt after school, then a 3 hour trip to the pool:

Blood

I drew blood today for the first time! I can’t believe that I stuck a needle in someone’s arm and collected blood (I got it on the first try)!

A day without any Obligations!

Mother’s Day was a day without any obligations. We totally played the day by ear and made zero plans. It was awesome!

The day started with breakfast in bed and several cards from the girls.

We then cleaned house for two hours. I know it sounds crazy to clean on Mother’s day, but our house was a mess and everyone helped.

We played Uno (I one 3 out of 4 – I wonder if they were letting me win???).

Had ice cream.

Rode bikes.

To end the day, we enjoyed a nice walk at the park.

I feel so blessed!

I gave up Toothpaste

I kicked toothpaste to the curb about a month ago, and there’s no going back!

I am now using a pinch of baking soda and a drop of soap (Dr. Bronner’s castile soap is very natural and safe for the mouth).

I love it! My mouth has never felt cleaner and my teeth look really good. And with the addition of the water-pik, my gums look great too!

I have also been experimenting with natural hair care (aka “no poo” method) and skin care. I will post on these topics soon.

Easter

Wow – Easter weekend was jammed packed full of fun, and lots of food!

Egg Hunt Gathering #1:

We were invited by our close friends, Shane and Melissa, to their family’s egg hunt on Saturday.

Now it’s time to rest, clean house, and try not to eat all the Easter candy!
